When you
first start out you will want to use six chips total and then
move up from there. That means you will have two stacks of
3. and when explaining you'll have two stacks next to each
other i'll be refering to the left chip stack and stack 1
and the right chip stack as stack 2. (fyi i shuffle with right
hand but this explanation should work for the left also)
you will want to have each stack (of 3 in this case) touching
at one end.
your thumb goes on the left side of stack 1 (in the center
of the left side)
your index finger goes into the center of the two stacks (in
the grove created by where the chips are touching)
your middle and ring fingers go on the right side of stack
2 (but not the center of the right side) your middle and ring
fingers shouldn't be touching and the gap created should be
the center of the right side.
your pinky can and can not be used, it just depends on what
feels more natural. if it is used then it goes in the center
or a bit right of the center of the back of stack two.
you want to apply pressure from your thumb and middle and
ring fingers toward the center. Not too much though the chips
go everywhere.
your index finger then pulls up slightly (while there is pressure
applied). this will then start to separtate the chips in which
you then push the chips together by closing your fingers together.
(*note* it is easier to shuffle the chips when the bottom
chip of stack 1 goes up and inbetween the bottom chip of stack
2 and the second to bottom chip of stack two. that also means
the top chip of stack one goes on top the top chip in stack
two. )
(**note**
if shuffling and odd number of chips, have the more quantity
of chips in stack 2. that also means the top chip of stack
1 doesn't go on top of the top chip in stack 2 but instead
the the center. (you can shuffle an odd number chips with
the more being in stack 1 but when learning it is easier if
it is the extra chips are in stack 2 not 1.
